3D Indoor Playground

My First full 3D environment created in Maya.

This project was to create an full environmental scene. It was my first ever time using Maya. This experience was incredibly valuable to me as it was my beginnings and inspired my passion for 3D art.
My goal with the scene was the create a fun themed space to play, especially as I was obsessed with 'Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach' at the time and wanted to created a scene with a similar fun playground theme but with a bit of liminal eeriness. During creation, my theme started to shift from scary over saturated colours, and lights that felt wrong, to create a more cohesive forest themed play space.
Future Considerations
If I could create this scene again, the topography would be more cohesive, I used a lot of spheres and cylinders in this project that could've been avoided, as well as having additional objects that aren't necessarily needed. I would recreate the netting through curves or plane subdivisions vs individual spheres and cylinders. It would make the process faster
I would spend more time with textures and fixing UV maps, as well as ensuring scene management was better. Clouds would have been painted through textures or be dangling from the roof as lights instead of having them as random models that stick out. I wanted the space with the tunnel to be a blackboard with cute drawings etc.
Now that I know how to create UV Maps, and use hypershade in Maya, as well as use 3D substance painter, I could create more complex busy space through the use of textures.
